Barn conversion

In this barn conversion we have retained the sense of space that is so characteristic of the original buildings.  This one was derelict and in a state of collapse until work started.

Bear and Key

The former pub had been closed for some time, after ceasing to function as a hotel some years earlier.  The upper floors and stables to the rear were converted into houses and apartments, with a commercial use on the ground floor.

Communal stair in converted building

When converting a building into flats with a ground floor commercial use, the original stair that rose in the centre had to be replaced at ground floor level.  A new extension and stairwell was built for the communal stair leading to the flats above, illuminated by top-light, and giving a comfortable and well proportioned entrance for residents.  Design:  Nick

Former stables

This is the conversion of a former stables into a three bedroomed house. It sits in a secluded spot, set back from the street, behind other houses.  Design:  Nick
